I’ve never actually seen the Northern Lights but they exist in my mind as some sort of mythical and beautiful natural display. In this song, to me they represent hope. Hope that we’ll be alright after our massive fight, hope that I’ll come out of the low in one piece, hope that it’s not over until it’s over. I wrote it as a source of encouragement to myself really, but I’m hoping that it can be that for someone else too.
